Got a digital camera for Christmas, which means I'm living up to my techno-dude marketing demographic a lot better. I haven't used it yet, but I'll do my best to avoid the customary "look at my pictures" emails with links to Ofoto and stuff like that. It's my belief that most people are leading slightly more exciting lives than mine anyway, so their quarterly Ofoto emails are probably more interesting than mine would be.

So, have you guys ever actually ordered reprints from Ofoto? My suspicion is that most people use Ofoto because it's easier than setting up your own website for such a simple thing like picture sharing. But I suppose there are enough grandparents and relatives who print up pictures of newborns and updates of those kids' lives that Ofoto and similar services can afford to have all the freeloaders.

Ah, the good old days of internet freeloading. All you had to do was register with some site and you'd get huge discounts, even up to 100%, on stuff. The e-commerce technology and business models were goofy enough that you could clear out your cookie files and get seconds and thirds without anybody noticing. No surprise that it all came tumbling down in 2001.

Shopping Cart Personality Test?
I'm too busy to post daily, but here's something that happened to me the other day.

I'm at Target to pick up a prescription and decide to get some stuff we need at the house. After a while of shopping, I realize that my cart is filled with packages of diapers, toilet paper and cat litter. Being the paranoid, self-conscious, "what will others think of me" person that I am, I realized that my cart basically has a theme to it.

To throw the shopping cart psychoanalysts off the track, I decided to pick up some other items before I left the store. Of course, I'd have to choose the items carefully and break up the theme as well as possible, without purchasing useless stuff.

Merry Christmas!

WaghDude's second day. Nothing glorious planned for the day yet. I'm still learning how the blogger system works. At least I learned the difference between "posting" and "publishing" to the blog. The real reason I'm posting/publishing today is to see if the page updates with my links.

Come one, come all to Ye Olde Grande Opening of the WaghDude's blog.
